Located at Clontarf on the Redcliffe Peninsula, Grace Lutheran Primary School was established in 1971. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2021 with lots of Grace community events.
Initially operating with one class at each year level, the school grew into a Years 1-7 double stream school from 1989 onwards.
In 2006, enrolments grew again with the introduction of the full time Prep Year. As a result in 2011 we commenced triple streaming (three classes at each year level) with three Prep classes for the first time. From 2014, the school offered Prep to Year 6 classes following the transition of Year 7 to secondary school.
Our indoor stadium was built in 2009 and we also refurbished our music room to create our purpose-built Performing Arts precinct in 2018. Architectural refurbishment was made to all classrooms in 2014 and our new library space was also built in 2011. In 2020 we will be transforming our outdoor play area into a Nature Playground.
Our current Principal, Trudy Moala, joined our School in 2017.
In 2017 we refreshed our logo to ensure it continues to be relevant, modern and professional whilst reflecting our values and vision for the future.
The essence of Grace Primary has been captured in the logo through:
- The Cross, which is central to our Christian faith.
- The figure intertwining with the cross emphasises a union between Christ, the source and centre of our school life, and His children (students, teachers, parents and the community).
- The strong upward direction of the figure and the cross together create a sense of centrality and growth, which reflects the school motto ‘Grow in Grace’.
Incorporating our school colours of brown and gold whilst including a highlight colour of blue to symbolise water; our rebirth as God’s children through water and the Spirit, and to recognise the school’s unique location of being surrounded by the water of Moreton Bay.
The new logo and cross icon is now prominent on our new day and sports uniforms.
