Grace Primary acknowledges the essential partnership between the school and parents and that parental engagement is key to a successful education for every child.
We acknowledge that parents have responsibility for – and are the first educators of – their children. Parents and family, in the home environment, strongly influence what and how children learn. Apart from equipping students to live a Christ-like life, the School’s responsibilities are to:
- communicate clearly to parents what it accepts as its responsibility
- engage the interest and support of parents
- maximise opportunities for parental involvement.
Grace Primary provides a number of avenues for parents to be involved in day to day school life and support.
Parents’ Hub
This is a place where parents and the school connect to become informed and share ideas. The ‘Hub’ is conveniently located adjacent to the parent drop off/pick up waiting area and is open for school drop off and pick up times.
Parent Volunteers
Parents are encouraged to volunteer as opportunities arise to help in the classroom, tuckshop or on class activities, excursions and camps.
Events and Fund Raising
Annually a variety of social events and fund raising activities occur at Grace Primary. Through our events coordinator, Mrs Karen Misso, parents can volunteer to help with special food days, the biennial fete, Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls and other fun activities. Our aim is to make fund raising and events community and child focussed.
